Webull allows you to short a stock if you have but first you have to meet a couple requirements.

You cannot just go into the and just start shorting a stock. Webull has a few requirements that need to be met before you short a stock on Webull.

Let’s go over what those requirements are.

1. Margin Account

If you’re trying to short a stock on Webull with a cash account, you may get declined.

You’ll need to make sure you have a margin account type to short a stock on Webull.

2. $2,000 Margin Equity Worth

You’ll need to make sure you account with margin, is worth $2,000 or more to short a stock on Webull. Otherwise, Webull may decline your short request.

Shorting a Stock on Webull

Once the requirement, you can now go through the process of shorting a stock on Webull.

To start, you’ll need to pick a stock.

Once you’ve selected the stock, go to the Trade widget, and select Sell instead of Buy.

You may also add a Stop Loss Order or a Take-Profit order on your shorts.
